GreenPaws Fight on Toxic Flea and Tick Products

Spring is almost here and so will flea and tick season. While researching some natural flea repellant products I came across the Green Paws website and NRDC’s efforts to get the EPA to protect consumers from toxic pesticides in pet flea collars.

Flea and tick products with certain chemicals can leave residues on fur that can lead to damage of the brain and nervous systems- not just dogs and cats–but people, too.

Check out the NRDC’s Green Paws campaign that helps consumers find the safest flea-control products on the market. The Green Paws product guide is an excellent resource for anyone that is worried about commercial flea and tick medications.

About: Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) is an environmental action group, combining the grassroots power of 1.3 million members and online activists with the courtroom clout and expertise of more than 350 lawyers, scientists and other professionals. Since NRDC’s flagship report, Poison on Pets, was released in 2000 with a list of dangerous chemicals contained in flea and tick products, they have helped to get almost all of them banned.
